The Englishman Tyler Hatton managed to grab his first European title since 2021 after winning the Dunhill Links Championship on the 6th of October.
Hatton managed to equal the course record on Saturday before entering the final day with a one-shot lead. He went on to take a three-shot lead on the final day as he got four birdies in the first 11 holes.
A double bogey on holes 13 and 14 enabled the Belgian player Nicolas Colsaerts to get on the lead along with Hatton. The Englishman grabbed a birdie in the last hole from three feet away to get a -24 as the Belgian couldn’t birdie his last attempt and was eight feet away from the hole.
In the same golf tournament, there’s a team event, and the winner, Tyrrell Hatton, played in a team with his father, Jeff, where they finished in second place. The champion said after winning the course, “It’s the first time I’ve actually won the tournament with my dad here, so it means a lot, and to do it at the home of golf is really special,” he expressed how he felt: “I’m trying not to cry, to be honest. I’m a bit lost for words.”
Hatton will now be able to participate in the final event of the DP World season that is held in Dubai.
