This purple bus is offering free fertility tests to women.

A purple bus is out on the roads of Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering women a free fertility test and educating them about the otherwise taboo subject. This is part of a unique campaign by a local company to help women understand their bodies better.

The company behind the campaign, Ovasave, provides affordable fertility testing and egg freezing services in the UAE. The co-founder of the company, Torkia Mahloul, reportedly said that more than 300 women had lined up to take a fertility test on the first day, and that they ran out of test kits showing the popularity of the initiative.

The two-week campaign will see the purple fertility bus drive around different locations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The test kit which would cost AED350 otherwise, is being handed out for free. The 5-minute test kit provides women with information about their egg reserve, helping them plan their future wisely.

The campaign is sponsored by Merck and Dubai Investments and hopes to remove the stigma linked to topics of women’s health. After the tests are conducted, the company then puts the women in touch with fertility doctors so they can choose how to proceed with important life decisions.
