The Indian Consulate in Dubai has issued a warning to Indian nationals residing in Dubai and the northern emirates about a rising immigration scam. Fraudsters are impersonating officials from the Pravasi Bharatiya Sahayata Kendra (PBSK) and attempting to extort money from unsuspecting expats.

These scammers are making fraudulent calls from a number resembling the official PBSK helpline, 80046342, claiming false immigration issues that require immediate payment. The consulate emphasized that they never contact individuals regarding immigration matters and will never ask for personal information such as OTPs, PINs, or bank details.

Indian expats are urged to be vigilant and report any suspicious calls directly to the Indian Consulate.
