Israel advances its campaign in Lebanon with “limited, localized, targeted” ground operations in southwestern Lebanon. On Tuesday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced targeted attacks by Israel’s 146th Division on Hezbollah personnel and infrastructure.

The IDF elaborated on ground attacks in Lebanon’s south: “The 146th Division is the first reserve division to operate in southern Lebanon as part of the ongoing operations against Hezbollah in the northern arena.” This division served as a “defensive regional brigade, and its forces were deployed in northern Israel, the Gaza Strip, and the occupied West Bank.

The division will continue to work alongside the 213th Artillery Brigade to expand ground operations from southwest Lebanon to eastern areas closer to the shared border with Israel. News of renewed ground incursions in Lebanon comes amid IDF claims of killing Hezbollah commander Hussein Husseini in Beirut.
