Kim Kardashian, known for her impeccable style, made headlines at the LACMA Art + Film Gala, where she dazzled in a diamond cross pendant that once belonged to Princess Diana. The star showcased the iconic piece with undeniable flair. According to Sotheby’s website, Kardashian purchased the necklace for $197,453 at an auction, and it’s clear she waited for the perfect moment to showcase this.

This event marked the first public appearance of the necklace since Princess Diana’s demise in 1997. Crafted by Garrard, the piece features approximately 5.25 carats of diamonds and was one of her favorites – often worn with her evening gowns. Kardashian’s bold choice brought a modern twist to this historic jewel, showcasing both her fashion-forward sensibility and her deep appreciation for royal heritage.

However, Kardashian’s decision to carry this piece sparked a debate on social media. While many spoke at length about her confidence, some also chose to point fingers at her outfit. Whereas, her fans pointed out that she added her modern touch by layering it with other necklaces, a long white coat, and her stylish footwear.

Kristian Spofforth, head of jewelry at Sotheby’s in London, said in a statement that he was excited by the new ownership. “This is a bold piece of jewelry by its size, color, and style which cannot fail to make a vibrant statement, whether it be of faith or fashion – or indeed both,” he added, reports CNN.

He further said, “We are delighted that this piece has found a new lease of life within the hands of another globally famous name.”
