On October 6, the Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets took their gear to London to face off in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as part of the NFL’s seasonal game.Â
The Vikings are one of two teams that remain unbeaten in the NFL this season, along with the Kansas City Chiefs, who are the defending champions. Minnesota’s team took it to themselves to start the game perfectly, as Andrew Van Ginkel managed to get a pick-6 for the Vikings in the first quarter to help with the start as they took a 17-0 lead.Â
MVP Gives New York Hope
Aaron Rodgers, the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP), was leading New York’s team as quarterback and rose to the occasion to give hope to the Jets before halftime. As six minutes were left, Rodgers threw a ball to Garrett Wilson to reduce the deficit to three points, 20-17.Â
Vikings Play It Safe To Secure The Win
The Vikings chose to shoot the ball between the posts to add three more points to make it a challenge for Aaron and Co. to make a comeback with three minutes left with a score differential of six.Â
The Jets can only hope for a touchdown to win the game, but Minnesota thought otherwise as their defense intercepted Rodgers and claimed the fifth win of the season while also keeping their winning streak alive.Â
Rodgers Joins Elite Group
Rodgers was tackled multiple times throughout the game, which calls for action from the Jets’ coaching staff to find a solution for the legendary quarterback. He also became the ninth player in the history of the NFL to pass 60,000 yards.Â
Coming Up
The Minnesota Vikings now stand first in the NFC North (5-0) group, while the New York Jets stand second in the AFC East (2-3).Â
The Vikings will be facing the Detroit Lions on the 20th of October, and the Jets will take on the Buffalo Bills on the same day.
