Corporal Abdullah Sulaiman Murad, a determined member of Dubai Police, has overcome extraordinary odds to earn a free diving certificate despite being paralysed for the past 12 years. Dubai Police honoured his resilience in a special ceremony led by Brigadier Dr. Hassan Suhail Al Suwaidi, director of the Ports Police Station.
Abdullah’s life took a drastic turn after a traffic accident left him paralysed. However, with unwavering determination and the support of the Empowerment Council for People of Determination in Dubai Police, he pursued both academic and physical goals, including completing postgraduate studies in human rights.
Abdullah also participated in numerous sports and training programs, ultimately succeeding in earning his free diving certification. He now aspires to become a certified diving trainer.
Brigadier Al Suwaidi praised Abdullah’s remarkable achievement, emphasizing the centre’s commitment to supporting all employees, including individuals of determination, in achieving their professional and personal goals.
Abdullah expressed gratitude to Dubai Police and the Empowerment Council for their continued encouragement. The ceremony was attended by senior police officials and representatives from the Bermuda Diving Centre, where Abdullah completed his training.
