President Sheikh Mohamed of the UAE and Russian President Vladimir Putin jointly inaugurated the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Education Centre at Moscow’s Primakov School during Sheikh Mohamed’s official visit to Russia. The new centre, named after the UAE’s “Mother of the Nation,” Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, marks a milestone in educational collaboration between the two countries.

The leaders observed a presentation highlighting the curriculum of the Sheikha Fatima Centre, focusing on its role in enhancing cooperation in areas such as Arabic language education, history, culture, arts, and science and technology. The centre aims to promote intellectual and creative development among students and foster cross-cultural understanding.

Dr. Sergey Kravtsov, Russia’s Minister of Education, emphasized the school’s mission to nurture high achievers and cultivate talent from early childhood. Primakov School, known for its commitment to intellectual development, also offers scholarships to exceptional students from over 50 regions across Russia.

Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Ambassador to the Russian Federation, underscored the importance of the UAE-Russia partnership, particularly in education. He noted that naming the centre after Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak recognizes her global efforts in promoting education and knowledge-sharing. As Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, Sheikha Fatima has been a champion of education and social development.

The inauguration of the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Education Centre symbolizes the deepening ties between the UAE and Russia, reinforcing their shared commitment to advancing educational and cultural collaboration.

Sheikh Mohamed and President Putin toured the facility, meeting with staff and students. They visited a classroom where students spoke in Arabic about the educational opportunities provided by the centre, which follows international standards. Both leaders praised the initiative as a significant step in fostering greater cooperation between their nations.

The Primakov School is named in honor of the late Yevgeny Primakov, a former Russian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. The Moscow-based school is linked to the Russian School in Abu Dhabi, the first Russian school in the UAE, which opened in 2022 in partnership with the Primakov School.
