The Presidential Court has declared that Saturday, March 1, 2025, will mark the first day of Ramadan in the UAE.
This announcement comes following the decision of the Moon Sighting Committee for Ramadan, which was convened by the UAE Council for Fatwa on the evening of Friday, February 28, 2025, corresponding to the 29th of Sha’ban, 1446 AH. The committee confirmed the sighting of the Ramadan crescent moon, officially marking the start of the holy month.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, wrote on X, “I extend my warmest greetings to the people of the UAE, and Arab and Islamic Nations, as we welcome the blessed month of Ramadan. May it bring peace, unity, and strength to us all.”
“As the holy month of Ramadan begins, I wish all those observing in the UAE and around the world a blessed month. Together, we pray for God to bestow His mercy on us and grant peace, harmony, and unity to all,” shared His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
