New data published by Brand Finance presents promising statistics on the UAE’s healthcare landscape. According to the business valuation and strategy consultant, 81% of UAE residents rank local healthcare offerings higher than those provided in their home countries.

New Brand Finance research surveyed 2,000 UAE residents, including 21% UAE nationals and 79% UAE residents. Both sample groups expressed great satisfaction with the UAE’s healthcare facilities. Findings reveal that 81%, or 8 out of 10 surveyors, noted a “very caring experience” in medical facilities across the Emirates. Another 81% of UAE participants confirmed that the UAE’s healthcare infrastructure was of “high quality.”

Richard Haigh, Global Managing Director at Brand Finance, elaborated on the UAE’s progress in the healthcare space. “In an era where healthcare access and quality are global priorities for government and citizens alike, the UAE’s investments in its healthcare system are yielding impressive results,” Haigh remarked. Statistics compiled by Brand Finance reinforced this sentiment, as “84% [UAE participants] believe the quality of healthcare in the UAE has improved over the past decade.” The same percentage is certain that further advancements will follow in the next ten years.

Residents in the UAE spend approximately AED 7,600 a year on healthcare, according to the data from the survey. “64% of residents still perceive the UAE’s healthcare as expensive,” Haigh said.

The study also underscored the UAE’s goal to promote healthy living, as 78% of UAE residents believe that “it is easy enough to live a healthy lifestyle, via exercise, eating healthily, and more in the country.” The abundant availability of public parks and gyms spread across the UAE supports these findings.

Aside from perceptions of the UAE’s healthcare system and services, the study also ranked leading healthcare providers. SEHA emerged at the top of leaders for the country and in Abu Dhabi. In Dubai, Aster was highly rated among residents. National Health Insurance Company (Daman) ranked as the best-perceived health insurance brand nationally, due to its trustworthy recommendations, attention to patient care, and ease of use.
