The release of Sanjay Dutt’s upcoming and much-anticipated horror-action-comedy titled The Bhootnii has been officially rescheduled. The film, which was originally slated for April 18, will now hit the screens on May 1, 2025.
As per reports, the decision to postpone the release stems from the film’s high reliance on extensive VFX work, which the makers are determined to perfect before unveiling it to the audience. With promises of top-tier visuals and a thrilling cinematic experience, the team is leaving no stone unturned.
The makers shared the updated release date in a quirky way, noting, “Insaan mohabbat wali date fix kar sakta hai, bhootnii ke aane ki nahi… Woh kab aayegi, kaise aayegi, yeh sirf wahi jaanti hai! Laga tha 18th April ko aayegi lekin ab aa rahi hai 1st May ko, taiyaar rehna.”
Critics shared that the movie would have clashed at the box office with Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2, if it was released as per the previous schedule.
Going back to Bhootnii, an upcomer that has already grabbed the eyeballs of the moviegoers, especially after the release of its trailer, which received an overwhelmingly positive response.
Alongside Sanjay Dutt, there will be a star-studded ensemble cast including Mouni Roy, Sunny Singh, Palak Tiwari, Beyounick, and Aasif Khan.
Bhootnii is presented by Zee Studios, Soham Rockstar Entertainment, and Three Dimension Motion Pictures. It is produced by Deepak Mukut and Sanjay Dutt, with Hunar Mukut and Maanayata Dutt serving as co-producers. The film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on May 1, 2025, under Zee Studios.
