The 35th edition of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival came to a successful close last Monday, marking a remarkable milestone for the emirate’s retail sector and commercial activity. Spanning 38 days, the festival offered an exceptional shopping experience for Sharjah residents and visitors alike, with activities taking place across malls, commercial centres, and entertainment hubs throughout the emirate.

The festival featured major promotional offers and discounts of up to 75%, drawing large crowds to local and international brands. In addition to retail deals, attendees enjoyed more than 12 entertainment events, along with family-friendly activities that created a lively and festive atmosphere during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr.

Organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), this year’s festival saw the participation of top retailers, entrepreneurs, small business owners, and productive families. The event generated an impressive half a billion dirhams in sales, marking a 25% increase compared to the previous year.

The festival saw a particularly strong turnout during the first two days of Eid Al Fitr, driven by a combination of retail offers, entertainment options, and prize draws. Shoppers eagerly participated in raffle draws held across festival pavilions, with winners receiving valuable prizes, shopping vouchers, and more.

Leading tourism destinations, hotels, and attractions also capitalized on the festival, offering exclusive deals and promotional packages that contributed to the overall economic impact.

Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI, praised the festival’s role in boosting Sharjah’s economy. He described the event as a cornerstone for the retail sector’s growth in the emirate, noting that it has become a key annual event that injects vibrancy into Sharjah’s commercial and tourism sectors during Ramadan.

Jamal Saeed Bouzanjal, Director of Corporate Communication at SCCI and General Coordinator of the festival, emphasized the festival’s broader social and cultural impact. He noted that beyond its commercial success, the event strengthens community ties and promotes the UAE’s cultural heritage, showcasing the nation’s traditions, values, and customs in line with the spirit of Ramadan.

The Sharjah Ramadan Festival, which ran from February 22 to March 31, has firmly established itself as one of the region’s most anticipated events, offering both economic benefits and a sense of cultural unity throughout the holy month.
