Sheikh Mohammed Reviews $980 Million Hatta Development, Highlights Natural Beauty And Sustainability

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, visited Hatta on Thursday to assess the progress of ongoing development and tourism projects as part of the region’s comprehensive development plan.

“During my visit to Hatta in Dubai today, we witnessed its stunning natural beauty, sustainable environment, and its appeal as a family-friendly destination for loved ones and friends,” he wrote on X.

The Hatta Tour

During his tour, Sheikh Mohammed reviewed projects valued at $980 million, with 41 already completed and 24 additional tourism, residential, and environmental projects currently underway. A key highlight of the visit was the approval of a model residential neighborhood for Emirati citizens, which will feature 200 homes that combine traditional local architecture with sustainable design elements.

Upon his arrival, Sheikh Mohammed was welcomed by Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Chairman of the Supreme Committee overseeing Hatta’s development; Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA); and other senior officials.

Sheikh Mohammed also inaugurated the Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls, a new eco-friendly attraction aimed at boosting the area’s appeal for both residents and tourists.

“Our dedication to developing Hatta, alongside all neighborhoods and areas of Dubai, remains unwavering. We will continue serving our citizens and striving to build the best quality of life for people globally. May God grant us success in our service to the nation and its people,” Sheikh Mohammed said as he concluded the tour.
