AI-Powered Legal Assistance Launches in UAE

The Ministry of Justice, in collaboration with the Office of Government Development and the Future and the Office of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications in the UAE Government, has announced the launch of the “Virtual Lawyer” project. This AI-powered tool will assist professionals in drafting legal documents for simple cases, streamlining the process and enhancing efficiency within the justice sector.

The project is a part of the UAE government’s efforts to use technology to improve services and make it easier for people to interact with the government – a significant step in improving services and creating a more user-friendly experience for citizens. By automating certain legal tasks, it aims to achieve additional value represented in accelerating litigation time, developing its services and global leadership, and facilitating the litigant’s journey.

Abdullah Sultan Bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice, emphasized the ministry’s commitment to embracing innovation and forward-thinking strategies to enhance the justice system.

As per him, by investing in AI, the ministry aims to create a more efficient, accessible, and accurate justice system. AI-powered solutions can streamline legal procedures, reduce administrative burdens, and improve decision-making processes. This aligns with the UAE’s broader vision of embracing digital transformation and building a knowledge-based economy.

By automating certain legal tasks, the ministry hopes to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the justice system, while also providing a more seamless experience for clients accessing government legal services. The pilot version is to be launched in 2025.
