Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, is grieving the loss of his mother, Sheikha Hessa bint Humaid bin Abdul Rahman Al Shamsi, who passed away on Monday.

In response to the passing, the Ruler’s office has announced three days of official mourning, with flags lowered across the emirate starting today, WAM reported.

A funeral prayer will take place after the Dhuhr (noon) prayer at Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla Mosque in the Al Ras area of Umm Al Quwain.

The Umm Al Quwain Ruler’s office shared a statement, quoting the following prayer: “In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful… O’ the reassuring soul, return to your Lord, satisfied, and enter my slaves and enter my paradise… The truth of God is great.”

The Ruler’s Court has formally declared the mourning period, marking a time of reflection and remembrance for the late Sheikha Hessa.
