Tiger Woods took the unusual step of publicly confirming his romance with Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., in a brief post on social media Sunday.
Woods, who is known for keeping his personal life closely guarded, shared the news on X, writing, “Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side,” alongside two photos of himself relaxing with Vanessa Trump. He also requested privacy, stating, “At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.”
The announcement follows weeks of tabloid speculation surrounding the couple’s relationship. Vanessa Trump, who divorced Donald Trump Jr. in 2018 after 13 years of marriage, also shared a photo of herself with Woods on her Instagram account, appearing to make a coordinated announcement.
This public revelation marks a significant shift for Woods, who famously named his luxury yacht “Privacy” and has been intensely protective of his personal life.
His past was thrust into the spotlight during the 2009 sex scandal that derailed his career and led to the end of his six-year marriage to Elin Nordegren, the mother of his two children. Nordegren and Woods separated amid reports of Woods’ numerous infidelities, with claims suggesting he had been involved with as many as 120 women during their marriage.
