Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has unveiled the International Sports & Entertainment Free Zone, marking the UAE’s first-ever dedicated business hub for the sports and entertainment sectors within a Free Zone environment.
In a recent statement, DWTC revealed that the new zone is designed to serve as an industry-focused business platform, facilitating the licensing of a wide range of sports and entertainment activities. It aims to foster a collaborative ecosystem that will accelerate the growth of the sector.
The Free Zone will offer licensing opportunities for established sectors such as sports management, event management, talent representation, media and broadcasting, and more. Additionally, it will support the expansion of emerging areas like e-sports, AI-powered sports technology, and fan tokens.
The zone is set to become a hub for various stakeholders, including global brands, sports leagues, rights owners, investors, sports agencies, talent management firms, artists, sports personalities, influencers, and professionals from the creative industries. This move is expected to significantly contribute to the growth and diversification of the UAE’s sports and entertainment landscape.
