UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has expressed his readiness to assist in efforts to resolve the ongoing Ukraine conflict. During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed his commitment to mediating peace.
The informal talks, which extended until midnight on Sunday at Putin’s residence outside Moscow, focused on finding a peaceful resolution. Speaking through a translator in the Kremlin, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the UAE’s ongoing mediation role, particularly in facilitating prisoner exchanges.
“We are committed to making any effort necessary to help resolve this crisis and promote peace in the interests of both sides,” he told Putin.
Putin has previously commended both Sheikh Mohammed and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their mediation initiatives related to Ukraine.
