The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (Fahr) announced new working hours for public sector employees during Ramadan on February 23.

From Monday to Thursday, employees will work from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, while on Fridays, the hours will be from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This represents a reduction of 3.5 hours on weekdays and 1.5 hours on Fridays.

Certain employees, whose roles require different schedules, are exempt from this change. Additionally, ministries and federal government agencies may continue their approved flexible work arrangements throughout Ramadan, as long as they adhere to the daily work hour limits.

For Fridays, remote work is allowed for up to 70% of the workforce, based on the established guidelines.

According to the Hijri calendar provided by the Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD), Ramadan is expected to begin on Saturday, March 1, 2025. However, yet an announcement is awaited.
