Under the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has swiftly delivered urgent humanitarian aid to Myanmar in response to the devastating earthquake that recently struck the country.
The operation, coordinated by the Joint Operations Command in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, the Emirates Red Crescent, the National Guard Command, and the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, involved multiple airlifts to ensure the rapid delivery of essential supplies.
This initiative highlights the UAE’s ongoing dedication to humanitarian causes and its proactive role in addressing global humanitarian crises. The aid, which includes over 200 tonnes of food, shelter materials, and medical supplies, is intended to alleviate the suffering of the affected population and aid in the recovery process.
The shipment follows the successful completion of humanitarian missions by Emirati rescue teams in the region, reinforcing the UAE’s broader commitment to supporting disaster-stricken communities worldwide.
U Soe Thein, the Chief Minister of Yangon Region, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the UAE’s timely and generous assistance to Myanmar. He extended his sincere thanks to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for his compassionate support during these difficult times. The Chief Minister emphasized that this act of solidarity underscores the strength of the UAE’s humanitarian relationships and its dedication to global cooperation in times of crisis.
