In response to the escalating armed conflict in Lebanon, which has claimed thousands of lives and displaced countless families, the UAE has launched the humanitarian campaign, ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’. Since October 8, this initiative has mobilized urgent relief efforts aimed at providing support to the people of Lebanon in their time of need.
The relief campaign, which runs until October 21, encourages residents and citizens in the UAE to contribute by donating cash or volunteering to pack and send essential supplies. Donations will be directed toward providing food, medical supplies, and shelter materials for those affected by the crisis.
How You Can Contribute:
Volunteers can participate in packing relief boxes at the following locations:
- Saturday, October 12: Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai (9 AM to 1 PM)
- Sunday, October 13: Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal, Abu Dhabi Ports (Terminal 1) (9 AM to 1 PM)
- Saturday, October 19: Expo Centre Sharjah (9 AM to 1 PM)
In addition to physical contributions, cash donations can be made through the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) bank accounts, website, and mobile applications, or via other official charities in the UAE. Individuals can also drop off goods at ERC warehouses in Abu Dhabi’s Musaffah area and the Dubai Humanitarian City.
UAE’s Ongoing Relief Efforts:
In response to the humanitarian crisis, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan announced an urgent relief aid package worth $100 million to support Lebanon. Under this initiative, six aircraft have already delivered 205 tons of medical, food, and relief supplies in coordination with international organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
The ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’ campaign is part of the UAE’s broader commitment to humanitarian assistance, with the relief efforts being closely monitored by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Court for Development Affairs and Martyrs’ Families.
The campaign highlights the UAE’s longstanding tradition of providing aid to countries in crisis, with the leadership reaffirming their unwavering support for Lebanon during these difficult times.
