The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued red and yellow alerts to warn residents of foggy conditions in several parts of the UAE. The fog persisted until 9 am today, significantly reducing visibility. Additionally, rain was expected in certain regions.
The lowest temperature recorded this morning was a chilly 15.8°C in Jais Mountain, Ras Al Khaimah. Drivers were urged to exercise caution due to the foggy conditions and to adhere to the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.
Foggy conditions were reported in various areas, including Sweihan, Alkhazna, Nahil, and Al Sad in Al Ain, as well as Al Ajban, Al Khatim, Razeen in Abu Dhabi, and Jebel Ali in Dubai.
The NCM forecast for the weekend predicts fair to partly cloudy skies across the country. Temperatures are expected to rise, with humid conditions prevailing at night and a possibility of mist or fog formation in coastal and internal areas until Sunday. The highest temperatures are anticipated to reach 40°C in inland regions, while the mountains will experience a low of 19°C.
As UAE bids adieu to humidity, the weather is bound to see a lot more fluctuations in the next couple of days, until it’s officially winter.
