New Year 2025 kicked off well for the UAE, as residents embraced rain, which lowered temperatures in the region. Now, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a forecast for a significant temperature drop and more rainfall in certain areas across the United Arab Emirates.
Temperatures are expected to decrease tomorrow, with lows ranging between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius. This marks a drop from today’s high of 29.2 degrees Celsius recorded in Al Dhaid, Sharjah.

The NCM predicts a possibility of rainfall on both Wednesday, January 8th, and Thursday, January 9th. Earlier today, red and yellow fog alerts were reported in some areas of Abu Dhabi, causing low visibility for drivers. Residents can expect humid nights with a chance of mist or fog formation persisting until Friday, January 9th.
While the fog alerts have subsided, motorists are still advised to exercise caution on the roads due to potentially reduced visibility, especially during the early morning hours.

This weather change indeed makes UAE residents happy. Hisham Mehmoon, a Sharjah resident traveling to Dubai said, “Last week, I captured all those moments while traveling and in the evening, once I was home, we [family] stepped out for a quick tea break near Majaz in Sharjah. The temperature had dropped and it was freezing the office premises as well. This is the best time of the year in the country.”
