The eastern parts of the UAE are expected to experience light showers on August 19. During the weekend, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasted a chance of light precipitation along the east coast of the country on Monday.
Sporadic showers in the east were accompanied by dust storms and strong winds across the nation. An orange alert has been issued by the NCM as conditions persist and visibility is compromised. In light of these climatic changes, Abu Dhabi police warned motorists to exercise caution when driving and to avoid using their phones when navigating traffic on Monday morning. The NCM has also issued a yellow alert for fresh winds reaching 40 kmph near the Oman Sea and Arabian Gulf with waves reaching six feet until 1pm today.
