The UAE experienced a shift in weather on Wednesday, April 16, as dusty conditions took over several parts of the country, including Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi. Residents woke up to reduced visibility, strong winds, and high humidity as weather systems intensified overnight.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a series of weather alerts, with red and orange warnings in effect due to fog, dust, and strong winds. A red alert remained active until 9:30 am, warning of thick fog and significantly reduced visibility.

Meanwhile, an orange alert, valid until 10:00 am, cautioned residents of fresh northwesterly winds blowing dust and sand across the region.

Throughout the morning, foggy conditions were reported across various emirates, further complicating travel and commuting. The NCM stated that Wednesday would remain partly cloudy and dusty, with temperatures expected to dip slightly.

Humidity is expected to range between 30% and 70% in Abu Dhabi and between 35% and 75% in Dubai. Temperature highs will hover between 25°C and 35°C in Abu Dhabi and between 28°C and 34°C in Dubai.

Maritime conditions have also been affected, with the Arabian Gulf forecast to be rough to very rough, while the Oman Sea is expected to be slight to moderate, turning rough at times.
