The UAE weather experienced a chilly morning today, with the lowest recorded temperature of 8.3°C at Jais Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah at 2.15 AM, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM). Fog also formed over the Bad’ Al Mutaw’ah region in Al Dhafrah.
Dr. Ahmed Habib, a climate expert, explained that starting December 16, the country will see cooler weather as north-westerly winds bring a drop in temperatures. This cooling effect will gradually lower temperatures across the UAE by 5-7°C, starting in the western regions before spreading to other parts of the country.
Looking ahead to the weekend, he warned that rain is likely, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies expected. Eastern areas such as Al Ain and northern regions like Ras Al Khaimah could experience light to moderate rainfall. From Friday through Sunday, the weekend will bring more rain, with a higher chance of showers in areas like Ras Al Khaimah, the northern part of Umm Al Quwain, and possibly the eastern parts of the country, reports Khaleej Times.
Although Dubai may not see much rain, there is a strong chance of rainfall over the islands and the sea. Light to moderate winds will blow throughout the day, and these winds could occasionally strengthen, stirring up dust. The sea is also expected to be rough, with strong north-westerly winds making conditions challenging.
