The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a red alert on Tuesday, warning residents of severe foggy conditions across the UAE. The alert urges caution as visibility may drop significantly, especially in coastal and internal areas.
To ensure safety, authorities have reduced speed limits and drivers are advised to adhere to these, particularly during early morning hours when fog is most prevalent. While the foggy conditions are expected to improve, the weather bureau has suggested humid nights and potential fog or mist form in coastal and internal areas on Wednesday morning.
The UAE is ready to welcome its winter season and residents must pre-prepare for fluctuations. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has advised residents to take measures to safeguard their electrical systems as well.
Despite the foggy weather, temperatures are expected to remain relatively high, with highs of 38°C in mountainous regions and lows of 17°C. Humidity levels may reach as high as 95% in coastal areas and as low as 15% in mountainous regions.
