Winter camps are back in Dubai

The Dubai Municipality has announced the launch of the temporary winter camping season that starts from October 21, 2024, until the end of April 2025. The designated location near Al Aweer offers a secure and well-equipped environment for families and individuals to enjoy the unique desert landscape during the end of the year.

The Municipality has prioritized the comfort, safety, and enjoyment of all visitors, including people with disabilities. Reserved spaces near the front of the camping area have been allocated to ensure easy accessibility for people with disabilities, it stated in a press release.

Engineer Abdullah Al Shizawi, Director of the Building Activities Control Department at Dubai Municipality also said that the collaboration with strategic partners such as Dubai Police, Roads and Transport Authority, Civil Defense, and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, is committed to ensuring a smooth, safe, and enjoyable camping experience.

Dubai Municipality has set some rules for people as well. Campers must follow public health and safety rules, keep the area clean, and use fire extinguishers. They cannot use fireworks or drive sand bikes faster than 20 km/h. Flashlights and loudspeakers are also not allowed.

If you’re looking for other locations in the city, areas of Wadi Al Amerdi, Wadi Al Shabak, Al Warqa, and Al Khawaneej in Dubai, also offer spaces to embark on a quick break. Moreover, there are many options around Sharjah as well, like Al Dhaid Desert and Mleiha, amongst others.
