Wynn Resorts has announced plans for a massive casino at their upcoming property in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. The gaming area will span across a staggering 225,000 square feet, making up about 4% of the entire development.
The UAE government recently granted Wynn Resorts the country’s first commercial gaming license, paving the way for this groundbreaking project. The casino will be the first of its kind in the Middle East region.
Wynn’s gaming license is valid for 15 years and can be renewed. The UAE has a limit of one land-based casino per emirate. Wynn anticipates two more major casino resorts will open in the region soon, with MGM Resorts International already applying for a license in Abu Dhabi.
Khaleej Times reports, the project is expected to boost tourism, employment, and tax revenues in Ras Al Khaimah. While the casino will be centrally located, visitors can explore the resort without entering the gaming area. Wynn’s Al Marjan Island property is a luxurious development located on a man-made island; construction will continue until early 2027.
The resort is expected to open for business shortly after that. Wynn owns 40% of the company that is building the resort. The property will most likely have 1,542 rooms, including 297 suites, 6 townhouses, and 22 villas. Guests will also be able to enjoy 22 restaurants, a shopping area, and a conference center.
