US Vice President Kamala Harris has conceded the 2024 presidential elections after Trump won the presidential race. In her speech, Harris told her Democratic alma mater at Howard University in Washington that she aims to continue the “fight that fueled [her] campaign.”
We must accept the results of this election.
Earlier today, I spoke with President Trump and congratulated him on his victory. I told him that we will help him and his team with that transition, and we will engage in a peaceful transfer of power.

“While I concede the election, I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign—the fight for freedom, opportunity, and dignity for all people,” Harris said in a concise speech that lasted less than 15 minutes. She reminded them to “keep fighting.”.
“… I will close with this. Only when it is dark enough can you see the stars. I know many people feel we are entering a dark time… Let us fill the sky with the light of billions and billions of stars, the light of truth, optimism, and service,” she said.
Donald Trump, at 78, will become the oldest president at his inauguration on January 20, 2025. Had Kamala Harris won, she would have made history as the first female president of the United States. “This is a political victory unlike any our country has seen before,” Trump declared in his speech.
Global leaders quickly expressed their readiness to work with President-elect Donald Trump, though some regions remain apprehensive about his “America First” policy. Among the most concerned nations will be Ukraine, which was invaded by Russia in 2022. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky echoed the immediate need for peace in the ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine that began in 2022.
Kamala Harris entered the presidential race in July after a visibly aging President Biden withdrew. She ran a centrist campaign focused on highlighting Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric and controversial stance on immigration. However, his stringent warnings about immigration resonated with voters struggling in the post-Covid economy and seeking change after a Biden term in the White House.
