As AI progresses beyond the likes of ChatGPT, the ability to compute greater quantities of data is becoming a gnawing necessity. Several innovators at GITEX 2024 showcased their solutions to this global need of the hour. Intel’s Lunar Lake processors launched at the Logicom booth at GITEX Global 2024 highlighted the crucial role hardware will play in catapulting the GCC region into the mainstream AI landscape.

Michael Papaeracleous, Executive Director of Distribution at Logicom spoke about Logicom’s long-standing partnership with Intel in the GCC and EMEA region. Customer needs dictate the pulse of a market and determine the success of a product. AI-driven solutions are no exception to this rule.

According to Papaeracleous, “Today’s hardware, such as Intel’s Lunar Lake processors, features dedicated NPUs (Neural Processing Units) that can handle complex AI workloads efficiently.” Enterprise-grade AI is built to leverage finite resources like time and human capital to produce maximum results. “This shift [in the definition of productivity] means that the same hardware can be used for traditional tasks as well as AI-enhanced applications, helping businesses boost their productivity and unlock new use cases.”

Intel’s Lunar Lake processors allow AI software vendors to harness the capabilities of the AI PC, ensuring smooth and efficient operation. Achieving proper software compatibility is essential for tapping into this potential, as incompatibility can result in crashes, data loss, and performance problems. This is coupled with the new Xe2 GPU architecture within Lunar Lake, which improves PC results in the MENA region’s booming esports community. The influence of GPU architecture on overall game performance is crucial for appreciating the significant enhancements that Lunar Lake brings. Intel’s updated architecture boasts smoother gameplay and AI integration in gaming.

Papaeracleous also focused on the sustainability goals Intel and Logicom uphold in their innovative partnership. “Through this partnership, we [Intel and Logicom] help businesses harness the power of AI while ensuring high-performance computing with lower power consumption,” Papaeracleous emphasized. Taha Khalifa, CCG Enterprise and Government sales director for EMEA and GCC country manager at Intel expanded on Logicom’s strategy to push key partners such as HP, Dell, and Lenovo to innovate for the MENA region.

“We’re targeting a broad range of sectors, from SMBs to large enterprises and government accounts, emphasizing the productivity gains and AI capabilities that Lunar Lake can deliver. By leveraging our extensive partner network, we’ll ensure this new technology reaches all market segments effectively,” said Khalifa.

While AI-driven innovation is becoming the norm in the MENA, global names like Intel and their local partners like Logicom are dedicated to pushing hardware to untapped limits.
