As the US election counting gains steam, world leaders have taken to social media platforms to congratulate Donald Trump for securing another term in the White House. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and French President Emmanuel Macron were among the first few to extend their good wishes to the Republican candidate.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his “heartiest congratulations to [his] friend Donald Trump on [his] historic election victory.” Donald Trump is on the verge of a major victory in what was expected to be a tight race to the White House. The Republicans successfully flipped all seven battleground states, a remarkable achievement given that Democrats had won six of them in 2020.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s Prime Minister, took to X to congratulate Trump on “history’s greatest comeback!”. France’s Macron also chimed in on the early congratulations from global heads of state, with renewed “respect and ambition.”

In his victory speech, Trump expressed gratitude to his supporters, running mate JD Vance, his wife Melania Trump, and his children for their support throughout what had been a tough campaign. He also acknowledged Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk, who has publicly endorsed and rallied with Trump.
