Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Marjan Island is set to become a global gaming powerhouse with the upcoming Wynn Al Marjan Island resort, which will be the first integrated gaming resort in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region. Max Tappeiner, President of Wynn Resort Al Marjan, announced at the Future of Ras Al Khaimah Conference that the $2 billion development could become the “fourth major gaming market in the world,” joining the ranks of Las Vegas, Macau, and Singapore.
Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027, the resort will mark Wynn Resorts’ first foray into the UAE, positioning Ras Al Khaimah as a luxury and entertainment destination on the global stage. Tappeiner shared images of the ongoing construction, confirming that the project is progressing on schedule and will feature a mix of unique amenities designed to redefine the region’s hospitality standards.
The Wynn Al Marjan Island will offer luxury suites, an expansive casino, and a range of entertainment facilities, including high-end restaurants, bars, a beach club, and a state-of-the-art conference center for weddings and corporate events. The resort’s appeal is expected to draw both leisure and business travelers, underscoring its multifaceted approach to tourism.
Tappeiner highlighted the resort’s strategic location, noting that 96% of the global population is reachable within an eight-hour flight, with 76% of the world within direct range of Al Marjan Island. This geographic advantage, combined with the area’s high concentration of wealth, positions Wynn Al Marjan Island as a potential global leader in gaming and luxury travel.
Reflecting on Wynn Resorts’ reputation as a top revenue-generating brand and a five-star operator, Tappeiner emphasized the company’s dedication to exceptional quality and vision. He stated, “We intend to drive this asset as fast as possible to ensure we fulfill the vision,” underscoring the ambitious plans to make Marjan Island a major player on the world’s gaming and entertainment stage.
